Marie B. of MI 12/28/2021-1/2/2022	Thank you so much for renting out your cabin to us! We had a wonderful time on this much needed vacation! It was equal parts relaxing and lounging in the comforting cabin, cooking and soaking in the hot tub as well as adventurous! Hiking the grayson highlands and along the water falls and streams near blowing rock. Even walking up the road where the cabin is was breath takingly beautiful. I loved how relaxing the cabin was and its proximity to some of the most amazing hikes. It was the perfect combination to work our legs all day and relax in the hot tub at night or just cozy up watching a movie. The fact that we could bring our babies (dogs) was the icing on a perfect cake. This place is truly an escape from the world. The only downside was having to return to Michigan.

I was a bit worried because our son is 10 and I was worried it wouldn't have the Christmas feel but it was great. The decor and family feeling were great. Definitely one of the few families that needed the first aid kit LOL! Thank can't wait to come again.

Enjoyed our time around the firepit on those cool and refreshing evenings. Amy and I feel recharged with all the relaxation the last four days. You supplied everything needed to make our stay Enjoyable and stress free. Enjoyed wine, chocolate, and ashe cheese on the welcoming porch. Cooked out on the grille and Lansing Grocery had the best meats. Look forward to scheduling next year for another relaxing get away. Thank you so much.

Walked to the river - loved the signs! Didn't see any wildlife except for some squirrels! So glad Amy and Brian recommended this place Loved it! Sweet & Savory Bakery Deli was very good. The cabin is beautifully decorated! The peace and quiet did us both good. The walk to the river had enjoyable views! Loved to return next year ! Thank you. Bernard H. of FL Nov 3-5, 2021	Thanks for having us share this piece of heaven. We enjoyed every minute. It was such a relaxing stay. The walk to the river was very enjoyable. The pictures we took will last a lifetime. The fire pit was so awesome. We just sat around it for hours. Played a little bit of horse shoes and just took in the quietness. Our favorite was relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. We hope to return to this amazing place in the future. Had stayed here for 2-days. Only problem it was only for 2-days Loved loved loved it here. All the grounds very well kept. You have a private trail to a private spot at the river. Can’t wait to return :)

Jay B. of NC Oct 21-24, 2021	This is a perfect "cabin in the woods." We loved the seclusion and all the amenities -- even though we did not use many. Can't imagine anyone staying there that could not find something to do. Cabin was clean, plenty of details on how to use whatever, very nice kitchen with plenty of kitchen stuff; nice linens, comfortable chairs, appreciated the lamps throughout, close to West Jefferson but not too close :).

It rained for most of it so we didn't get a chance to use most of the amenities, but we really came for the quiet time anyway. The river spot is gorgeous, yes even in the rain. I'm sure we will enjoy another visit in the future.

Kaitlyn D. of NC Sep 21-24, 2021	What a Beautiful Cabin. We explored the river and made a campfire, enjoyed the hot tub after a hike and lazed the day away watching the rain on the porch. We visited West Jefferson, Thistle Meadow winery, the creeper trail, and the little town of Lansing! We are heading to Blowing Rock today before heading home. This was much needed after a crazy couple of years. Thank you for allowing us a stay at your cabin. P.S Thank you for the smores stuff!

John H. of LA Sep 15-20, 2021	We loved our walk down to the river. That is when we saw the deer grazing. We had a pretty brutal schedule as we were there for Merlefest in Wilkesboro, which is a 4 day festival. The cabin is so peaceful! It is even better than described. The owners were attentive to our correspondence. Our last two nights at Merlefest ended earlier and we were able to use the hot tub both nights. Very soothing to our aching bones. We just wish we could have done more but just not enough time. The owners pretty much thought of everything needed for the perfect stay.

Terry C. of FL Sep 6-9, 2021	What a beautiful property and cabin. From the moment we saw it we extended our stay one additional day. We came to enjoy the Virginia Creeper again, but was pleasantly surprised with the river we enjoyed wading in every day. Not a day went by that we did not see deer meandering by. They are not the least bit afraid of the bears in the trees. We have truly enjoyed our get away here and look forward to returning.

As a newly married couple we enjoyed fishing down at the creek, biking at the Virginia Creeper Trail, stopping at several area wineries, tubing down the new river and eating at the most amazing pizza place ever (Pie on the Mountain) in Lansing. But most important we made lasting memories. We look forward in coming back.

Michael C. of NC Aug 27-29, 2021	The setting was fantastic. The hot tub was a real plus! Our kids enjoyed the horseshoe pits and we watched a movie both nights we were there. We were blessed to be able to enjoy the rocking chairs with birds chirping and fishing at the river. We had not stayed here before, but we will definitely return. Our whitewater rafting trip to the Edge of the World was a fabulous day and one we HIGHLY recommend. Everything was as advertised and we couldn't have asked for a better experience...a beautiful home in a breathtaking setting. The cabin was very well decorated providing that cozy, cabin feel for our entire stay. The owners were very responsive to questions we had leading up to our stay and I'm sure they would have been if we'd had an issue while there, but, thankfully, we didn't. We highly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future. Access to the river was also very enjoyable...super peaceful down there! The rafting experience with Edge of the World was awesome, so thank you for the recommendation! That crew is a load of energy and fun!

Hot tub, horseshoes, corn hole, lake access, hammocks, fire pit, and conveniently located to Grayson Highlands State Park, Creeper Trail and awesome kayaking...you can't go wrong staying here. Thank you so much for making our first trip as empty nesters perfect!

It has a beautiful river access. The only thing that would have made the visit better would have been to have time to enjoy the ammenities. We came for just the weekend to go to a family wedding in Emory VA. The cabin is so clean and comfortable. Perfect place for a relaxing get away. Thank you for sharing your home. Great location, lots of activities nearby (sightseeing, biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc). Locals are extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Lots of fantastic restaurants nearby. This was a terrific mountain get-away! There were so many things to do, both at the cabin and in the surrounding area. We were blessed with beautiful weather during our entire visit, which was great for outdoor activities. Huge thanks to Mike and Donetta for sharing their cabin with us!

Amenities were as-advertised and great. I regret not booking an extra day or two so we could enjoy some of the amenities at the cabin. Definitely will next time!

Loved the mix of mountains, rolling pasture and rivers. You have made the cabin so welcoming with all the warm, fun, homey touches. Hot tub was wonderfully relaxing! Bed was so comfortable. We visited and hiked 5 state parks within about an hour or so of the cabin. Your binders at the cabin were amazing. We've never seen such a complete and well compiled notebook of an area. You obviously put a lot of effort into this and we enjoyed reading it even though we had already planned our State park hiking. So enjoyed coming back to this cozy cabin at the end of the day, enjoying the river & fishing and exploring the grounds. You have thought of everything for a relaxing memorable stay. All the bears in the trees & inside are so cute! Thanks so much for the dog treats thoughtfully put in a basket in a zip lock bag. Our dog noticed them and immediately sat down behind the end table and looked hopefully at me. Too cute! Of course we gave him one immediately! Also, WiFi worked great! While our daughter missed out on our hiking, she enjoyed the hot tub, loft, and working on her graduate work on the easy chair in front of the fireplace! Thanks for sharing your cabin. We would love to come back - perhaps with another couple.

Howard W. of VA Apr 8-11, 2021	Loved the cabin! Everything was as advertised and more. Exceptionally clean and organized. Kitchen has plenty of pots/pans/utensils and beds were comfortable. We primarily used the cabin as a basecamp for our hiking trips. We hiked Jefferson, Stone Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain. One day turned foggy, then rainy so we headed back early. Very nice to have a spacious cabin and everything worked! The little direction cards took all the guesswork out of using various items. Kitchen had many more pots and pans than expected -- made cooking easier. Having laundry capabilities was a very nice touch. Enjoyed the bench in front of the river! Thanks for allowing our dog, Dexter, to join us on our adventure. He made sure that "bear cub" stayed up the tree! Thanks so much! Had a wonderful stay!

Saw deer in the morning & evenings. Some squirrels digging up their nuts. Weather was perfect. Had a sprinkle but my husband refused to let the fire go out. We didn't take full advantage of everything, like the fire pit or grill, but we definitely would have if it was a bit warmer. The cabin really did have pretty much everything to make for an enjoyable stay!
