What a charming place. A relaxing time after Christmas. Cabin was as advertised. In the woods, but easily accessible. Clean. Had everything we needed. Instructions were precise and greatly appreciated. Owner stayed in contact. Would definiltey recommend and would use again. Ashe County is the last GREAT county in America. |

What an excellent place for a family Christmas. The cabin was perfect for a Christmas week getaway with my folks. We had a great time. Everything was awesome. The cabin was decorated and ready for the holiday season and this made everything very easy. We loved our entire stay and look forward to coming back again. I'm ready to be back here already! Thanks so much for making this a wonderful Christmas for my parents and me. We loved it! Merry Christmas. |

2nd time staying at Wil-deer-ness Cabin (not the last). Love everything about this place. Secluded enough for some quiet time with the family and friends yet close enough to town for what you might need. We will stay again. For all you people trying to decide where to stay on your trip to the mountains, look no more...Wil-deer-ness. You won't be disappointed. |

Your cabin is really nice. We have stayed in several cabins in the area but yours is the best. The second morning we had 7 or 8 deer feeding on the hill behind the cabin and that made our day. The rain stopped long enough for us to hike to the river, come back and have a fire in the fire pit until all of a sudden it started to pour rain again. We did make our regular trip to the mast general store. I had planned to play golf again at Mountain Air but that got rained out. You have put a lot of work into the cabin, & the trail to the river. Can't believe how much work you guys did to make that journey interesting. Thank you for sharing with us and letting us be here, love all your touches, had everything we could possibly ask for. The colors have been the best ever!! |

My husband & I came for our 20th, relax & enjoy time alone. Our first morning we woke to see a doe and her yearling at the hammock :-) An hour later we ate breakfast on the porch while two more doe ate theirs just to the side of the cabin. We loved seeing the deer! Thank you for sharing this bit of "God's Country" and your cabin that felt like home. PS - we would love to return; with the kids?? We may have to be selfish...no they would love it! |

As usual we had a wonderful & relaxing anniversary!! We saw a lot more wildlife this year, but we suspect they usually stay away because of our pups. It makes me so happy to know we have a wonderful place to go every year!! Thanks as always! |

This was our first time at Wil-deer-ness Cabin, our first time at any cabin as we usually stay at a hotel. Of course there is no comparison! We visit Jefferson every so often and love the shops but we stayed at the cabin for most of our 2 days here. We loved the fact that the cabin was secluded in the woods and so near the river. It was great to just sit by the river and re-connect and relax. We loved that we had everything we needed right there at the cabin. The hot tub was very enjoyable and I also saw a deer family outside on the hill from the kitchen window. It was around 10:30 if anyone wants to watch for them. We left saying how much we liked it and would love to come back. We really enjoyed our stay. It was a much needed getaway. The cabin was really nice with great amenities and a good price. Thanks for the well needed time away from home. |

Wish we could have stayed another week. It's never a long enough vacation when we are here. This is our 3rd visit and it just gets better each time. The cabin is in a great location. Close to town but yet secluded and quiet with no traffic. Cozy cabin with just enough supplies provided for you. Loved the hot tub and the path to the New River. This was new since our last stay. The river path is amazing and our kids had a blast hiking the path. Really enjoyed Mount Jefferson State Park and hiking the trails with a picnic afterward. Enjoyed playing cornhole on the awesome covered porch since it rained every day we were there. Still had the best mountain vacation ever. Really love how everything is so organized and instructions are specific. No questions are ever left unanswered. Michael & Donetta are absolutely fabulous to work with and are very accomodating. Prices are very affordable. The hot tub provided some much needed relaxation. We WILL be back again! |

1st time here & we were delighted! So peaceful & quiet but close to hikes & fishing! Saw deer every day. We absolutely loved our stay at your cabin. It was so peaceful and all the decor and homey touches were great! It is hard to say what we liked most - everything was great! We did beautiful hikes and relaxed. The river walk was pretty and we loved the signs! I loved reading on the porch and my husband enjoyed the deer.We were here for our 15th wedding anniversary & we hope to be back! The cabin is well-maintained and well-stocked with kitchen gear and plenty of towels for the bathroom (it seems there are never enought towels!) We were very impressed with the whole place! Everything is above and beyond any place we have stayed. |

Had a great time AGAIN! 4th time was the charm for the deer sightings! Saw deer every day - sometimes all day! One came to the hammock & we were sitting right there on the deck at the hot tub - then we watched 3 cross the river while we enjoyed the new river location! WOW so cool. Love the weather, nice and cool. Love the privacy and quietness. Love all of it. Love the area - Ashe County. Love seeing all the deer this time - more than usual. Love how we slow down and talk to each other. Family enjoyed Sunday with us & sister stayed all night. Thanks for sharing your cabin - we love it here! Can't wait for our next visit! |

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us. This is our first time at the cabin and surely not our last. Although our time had to be shortened, we still enjoyed our stay. Perfectly peaceful and refreshing. Cabin was well stocked and clean. The hot tub absolutely relaxing. Biggest thing is I don't ever want to leave. Keep up the good work! We had a wonderful short visit to the cabin. It's just perfect. Wish we could stay longer, but we will be back hopefully in the fall. Thanks for making your cabin so comfortable and very thoughfully furnished with everything you could imagine. The best part for me was the private wrap-a-round porch and the rocking chairs. The whole cabin is very thoughtfully appointed. Another thanks for allowing us to bring Annie Jo, our Goldendoodle! She loved all the freedom to roam. We saw plenty of deer in the early mornings and dusk! Best wishes! |

Well...another great week at Wil-deer-ness Cabin. Celebrated our 10th anniversary! We really loved the river access you added! It kept us from driving to another location so I could drown a few worms, plus it was so relaxing just swinging & watching the river go by. I actually caught 3 small, small mouth bass. The secret is wading to the other side and letting your worm float over some rocks. Thank you for sharing this lovely place! I wouldn't change anything! |

We had a wonderful week at the cabin. The river addition is so nice!!! We loved the new addition of the river access. It is so beautiful and peaceful down there. The walk up gives you a workout but the resting benches are a nice added touch! Last trip was just for the weekend so stayed mostly at the cabin. This trip we hiked the trails of Mount Jefferson, tubed the New River, road the Virginia Creeper, shopped and went to a movie in West Jefferson and had breakfast at Shatley Springs. We ended the week at Linville Caverns before heading home. Everything is conveniently close. We also managed to enjoy the peacefulness of the cabin. This was our 2nd stay here and we will definitely return. Thanks for sharing your home with us. |

We had an amazing and peaceful time. It was more than what we expected. The trails were really nice, especially the funny signs on the way. One of our favorite parts of the trip. We made use of the fire pit & all the great scenery. We loved the layout. My boyfriend and I came with his parents for their anniversary, so it was nice to have the loft. We will be making a trip back here very soon. Thank you for letting us experience the wilderness cabin!! PS. We loved the hot tub!! |

What a wonderful, relaxing "mini" vacation. We both needed some time away & this was the perfect place to go. Extremely peaceful. Everything was just great - so peaceful & quiet. We wanted this trip to be all about getting away and doing things we love to do such as quilting, painting, playing guitar, baking bread and being surrounded by nature. What a beautiful & peaceful week! It was a very peaceful and creative time for both of us. Love the cabin! It could not have been any better. Love the humor & whimsy. The beauty & peacefulness of my morning coffee in the rocking chair on the front porch - it doesn't get much better! Loved the sound system w/outside speakers. My husband is a musician and he always takes his music wherever we go. But it turned out all he needed was his laptop! It was like the cabin was designed for him. Also really loved the hot tub. Wanting to get one for ourselves and we are definitely going to look into the Jacuzzi brand. I have a lot of back and hip issues going on -- nothing to do w/age I'm sure ;-) But loved that each seat had jets for different areas, because that left upper corner seat was definitely designed for me! Your attention to the details was so appreciated, and your cabin was absolutely the perfect weekend getaway! We were not only celebrating our 33rd anniversary, but in addition to Mother's Day it was also my husband's birthday earlier that week and we are getting ready for the birth of our first grandchild. So we thought it was very appropriate to visit Grandfather Mountain during our stay. We also wanted to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway to get there, which was absolutely breathtaking! And there really are no words to describe the magnificent view from Mile High Swinging Bridge. We also really enjoyed watching the sunset in the hammock each evening. We actually didn't get to take your path to the New River until the last day, so we definitely want to come back so we can enjoy the river and your beautiful get away some more. One weekend just wasn't long enough to take in all the beauty of those Blue Ridge Mountains! Everything was perfect and beyond our expectations. |

We had such an amazing trip at the cabin! I
absolutely love the location of the cabin. It's so cozy,
quiet and secluded. It's not a very far drive to get to many
great attractions! The kitchen was equipped very well and everything
was clean and tidy. We loved the hot tub &
all the labels and directions to explain everything were the perfect
touch to make us feel right at home.
The hot tub was fantastic and the relaxing views from the
wrap around porch. This was an anniversary trip for us
& now even more
memorable because we got engaged right in the living room! We
really enjoyed our stay at your cabin and look forward
to coming back very soon & staying for even
longer! Jennifer: A wonderful trip to be sure! It rained 2/3 days we were here but we still had an amazing time in West Jefferson. We loved the labels (the teacher in me rejoiced!) and the hot tub was great. We will be coming back in the future! |

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wil-deer-ness! It was so nice being tucked away. We enjoyed spending our 5th anniversary outside by the fire pit. The outdoor speakers were a great addition! The cabin was stocked with essentials, & we felt right at home. While we wish we would have had access to the gas logs, we had fun using the hot tub!
